Next time you come in for a massage in an attempt to shake a cold, ask for the addition of Wild Orange to the therapist’s oil or lotion.  The sweet and juicy essential oil has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-septic properties, all of which pack a powerful punch against an array of illnesses.  This particular oil also contains an anti-depressant effect which can bring on feelings of general well being, one wonderful addition to a massage treatment.  Not only is Wild Orange helpful during bodywork, it can also be diffused around your home to keep a germ free environment during cold and flu season.  The oil has been proven to kill pathogens in the air, cleaning the home of any offenders.  Replace your current household cleaner with a spray bottle full of water and 20-30 drops of Wild Orange essential oil to ensure a safe and chemical free abode.  When taken internally the oil is known to stimulate lymphatic flow and balance water retention as well as boost the immune system.  When flying ask for a glass of seltzer and add 2 drops of Wild Orange to ensure a happy traveler upon arrival.  More often than not your children will be excited to try a fruit dip or smoothie with the addition of Wild Orange due to its tart flavor.  No more afternoon slumps, just tote your oil along to class or work and add a few drops to tea or juice…voila energy and clarity with a smile!  As I have said before be sure of the source and purity when ingesting essential oils.  doTERRA obtains their luscious oranges from the Dominican Republic where weather conditions allow for top quality fruit with a thick, oil filled rind.  Please inquire about our large selection of essential oils whenever you stop in for a healthy treat and we will get you feeling and smelling revitalized!

Oil of the Week: Lavender

This gorgeous purple herb of the mint family is one of the most widely used of all the essential oils.  It can be applied topically to the body in a carrier oil like coconut or jojoba in order to calm insect stings/bites, motion sickness, eczema, allergies, minor cuts, burns, bruises, agitated children, sunburn, overworked muscles and many more.  The lovely aroma can help to clear a sickroom or hectic working space to restore tranquility.  In order to infuse the scent just add 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil to a diffuser and breath deeply!  Look for Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils when using them internally in order to ensure purity.  Adding a few drops to water, milk or even smoothies is a tasty way to ease anxiety, aid in sleep and even protect against cancer.  A few drops added to your shampoo can help to nourish and strengthen your hair as well as deter dandruff.  This essential oil can also keep acne at bay when added to your facial moisturizer.  Personally, I find this particular oil to be indispensable when it comes time for my toddler to take a nap.  I have added the oil to his bath before bedtime and even put a few drops on his bedding before laying him down for a snooze.  When applied topically during massage the list of benefits to the body are endless.  The next time you come into the spa ask for an essential oil application during your massage.  This will help to combat stress, pain, insomnia, blisters, depression, flatulence, scar tissue and even chapped lips!  I cannot emphasize enough the importance of keeping a bottle of this miracle oil around your home.  I am a big fan of doTERRA essential oils as they are of the greatest quality and potency.   Next time you’re in for a treatment, ask for the addition of lavender essential oil for an even more calming and rejuvenating experience!
